The importance of dogs💙

At Paw Paddock, we’re proud to support Chestnut Tree House as our charity partner, a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. Through this partnership, we were introduced to the wonderful work of Pets As Therapy (PAT), a charity that brings comfort and companionship through animals to people in need.

Pets As Therapy works by taking specially assessed dogs and their owners into places such as schools, hospices, hospitals, care homes and community spaces. These visits can offer a wide range of benefits, from reducing anxiety and loneliness to providing moments of joy, calm, and connection. Sometimes, something as simple as a gentle cuddle or a wagging tail can make a huge difference.

Chestnut Tree House, as a children’s hospice, benefits greatly from these visits. For the children and young people they support, PAT dogs can bring light, reassurance, and a sense of normality during difficult times. Hearing the stories behind the dogs and learning how they become PAT dogs gave us a deeper understanding of just how impactful this work can be.

Being introduced to Pets As Therapy through our partnership with Chestnut Tree House has reinforced why this relationship means so much to us at Paw Paddock. It’s a powerful reminder of how animal companionship can play a meaningful role in care and wellbeing.
